In an official statement released on its official website, the Presidency assures that “as soon as it is received by the Presidency of the Republic, the decree will be promulgated in accordance with the statements already made by the President of the Republic.”
This announcement comes hours after the Minister of the Presidency, António Leitão Amaro, stated in a briefing following Thursday’s Council of Ministers meeting that the Government is only waiting for the promulgation by the President of the Republic to process the payment of the increased risk supplement for security forces. The regulation of the supplement was approved today in the Council of Ministers.

“We will be prepared to make the payment in the salary processing. Once the President of the Republic promulgates it, we are prepared to process it in a short time,” said the Minister of the Presidency.
The agreement between the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) and five of the PSP unions and GNR associations for the phased increase of 300 euros in the supplement was reached on July 9.
In addition to the 300 euro increase, raising the fixed variant of the fixed supplement from the current 100 to 400 euros, the signed agreement also provides for a revision of the professional statute, changes in the remuneration table in 2025 and in the evaluation ordinance, revision of the remunerated tables, and a fast track in healthcare.
