The Minho region woke up with rain this Wednesday, but the sun will shine again from 16:00, according to forecasts from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
The rain on Thursday morning is due to a cold frontal surface associated with a storm that originated in the Atlantic Ocean.
In a statement, the IPMA stresses that it will not be the depression itself, named by the French meteorological services as “Patricia”, that will directly affect the weather in mainland Portugal, but the associated surface, which will be “weak”.
“This depression will cross the continental territory during the 2nd, causing precipitation, in general weak, in the North and Center regions, being more frequent in Minho and Douro Litoral”, underlines the IPMA.
By 16:00, the rain will be gone and the sun will be shining again and should remain so for the next few days, with a noticeable rise in temperature over the weekend.
