Prime Minister Luís Montenegro ended his visit to Cape Verde today by dancing in the Old Town, the last stop on his visit to the archipelago.
The Prime Minister wore the traditional cloth “pano di terra” around his waist in the UNESCO heritage site where Portuguese navigators first arrived.
At the site, locals and tourists approached him for photographs and, from a Cape Verdean, Montenegro received a message: don’t follow the ideas of Chega leader André Ventura, “follow your thinking”, in an appeal to welcome Cape Verdean immigrants looking for work and a better life.
“Count on us,” replied Montenegro.
Before returning to Portugal, the Prime Minister will also meet with representatives of the Portuguese community.
