More than 200 operatives and seven aircraft are fighting a fire that has been raging for more than an hour in the municipality of Penacova, in the district of Coimbra, Civil Protection said today.
According to the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), the fire started at 16:30 in the Oliveira do Mondego and Travanca do Mondego parishes.
At around 17:45, 206 operatives were fighting the flames, supported by 52 vehicles and seven aircraft.
According to a source from the Coimbra Region Sub-Regional Command, the fire is burning in an area of scrubland and there are no houses at risk.
