Contacted by the Lusa agency, a source from the Alto Minho Sub-Regional Command, based in Viana do Castelo, explained that “the right flank and the head of the fire are under control.”
The same source added that “the resources on the ground are being repositioned to the left flank of the fire.”
The flames are burning in an area of mixed population and scrubland, which is difficult to access.
The source from the Alto Minho Sub-Regional Command stated that the flames do not threaten any houses.
