Man and woman, aged 53 and 55, crashed into traffic circle after overtaking several cars on IP8.
A couple, aged 55 and 53, died this Saturday morning in a violent crash of the motorcycle where they followed, at a traffic circle on the Complementary Itinerary (IP) 8, in the municipality of Sines. Paulo Rogério and Tuxa Fialho belonged to a motorcycle group from Oeiras.
According to CM, the motorcycle was traveling north-south and, after overtaking several vehicles, it failed to get around the traffic circle and crashed violently inside. The couple was projected several meters. They died immediately.
The deaths were declared on site by the doctor of the Emergency Medical Vehicle and Resuscitation (VMER) INEM. The bodies were transported to the morgue of the Hospital do Litoral Alentejano, in Santiago do Cacém, where they will be autopsied. The alert was given to 06h51 and relief operations were 14 operational, supported by six vehicles, Fire Sines, VMER Hospital Litoral Alentejano and GNR.
Military personnel from the GNR’s Traffic Accident Crime Investigation Center will investigate the causes and circumstances of the accident.
