Nature watchers of the Environment Agency and CCDR on strike on the 18th

The Nature Watchers of the Protected Areas, the Portuguese Environment Agency and the Coordination and Regional Development Commissions, will be on strike on the 18th, demanding career enhancement and reinforcement of staff.

According to a statement from the National Federation of Trade Unions of Workers in Public and Social Functions (FNSTFPS), workers will gather from 12:00 on the 18th at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action.

The workers are demanding that their careers be enhanced, that staff be increased and that working conditions be improved, the union says.

“Although the Government announced, at the beginning of the year, that this would be one of the professional careers of the Public Administration to be reviewed, we are in the second semester and nothing has been done in this regard, although the Minister of Environment and Climate Action has committed to send the FNSTFPS a working document regarding the said career review”, the statement said.

The Federation adds that despite insisting no meeting has been scheduled to date to start negotiating the enhancement of the career of Nature Watcher.

He added that there had been no favorable response to other demands made long ago, such as the updating of the risk supplement.
