O Sol da Caparica Festival kicks off on Thursday for four days of Lusophone music

The O Sol da Caparica festival kicks off on Thursday for four days of Lusophone music on four stages spread across the Costa da Caparica Urban Park, in the municipality of Almada.

Calema, Rui Veloso, Xutos & Pontapés, T-Rex, HMB and Capicua are some of the artists performing at the 9th edition of Sol da Caparica, which for the next three years will be organized by a new consortium of two companies, with the municipality receiving a financial contribution of 123,000 euros – 41,000 for each year.

The event had been organized since 2019 by the Chiado Group, which also entered the competition, but from this year until 2026 it will be developed by the companies Domingo no Mundo and Music Mov, headed by André Sardet and António Gomes, together with Almada Town Hall.

This year’s line-up will also include names such as L7NNON, Diego Miranda, Os Quatro e Meia, INSERT COIN, Badoxa, Danni Gato, MC Livinho, Mizzy Miles, Nelson Freitas and Rich & Mendes, Padre Guilherme, MC Ryan SP, Cláudia Pascoal, Linda Martini, Bateu Matou, Karetus, IRMA, King Bigs, Bianca Barros, Rony Fuego, Maninho, GANSO, Celeste Mariposa, Fogo Fogo, Porbatuka, NAPA, Mura and Stereossauro, Luana do Bem, M.A.C. (Missão A Cumprir), Bué Tolo, José Pinhal Post-Mortem Experience, Gilsons, Magano, I LOVE BAILE FUNK and TNT.

At the presentation of the event in April, André Sardet explained that he intends to include more artists, environmental associations, associations that support disabled citizens and economic agents from the municipality of Almada in the structure and design of the festival.

“We want it to be the dream of four summer nights for everyone,” he said.

For the Mayor of Almada, Inês de Medeiros, Sol da Caparica has established itself as “the great meeting point for the celebration of the Portuguese language” and as a festival of reference.

This year’s event has four stages: the Sea Stage, the Earth Stage, the Amphitheatre Stage and, for the first time, the Almada Stage, as a way of giving prestige not only to culture and artists, but also to the residents of the Almada region.

Tickets for O Sol da Caparica cost 28 euros per day or 78.5 euros for a four-day pass.

As usual since its first edition, residents of the municipality of Almada have a special price, and these tickets will be available for sale from July onwards, with proof of residence in the municipality, and limited to existing stock, at the Romeu Correia Forum and the Costa da Caparica Tourist Office.

August 18th is dedicated to children, with a program starting at 10:00 am, for a special price of three euros. The venue closes at 2 p.m. and reopens at 4 p.m. for the continuation of the festival, with programming on all four stages.

There is also a four-day family pass (for two children and two adults, exclusively for Almada residents) for 150 euros.
