The municipality approved the Municipal Plan for Equality and Non-Discrimination “Olhão + Equal” (PMIND), which will be in force until 2026.
The Municipal Plans for Equality are public policy planning instruments at the local level, which establish strategies for transforming the gender asymmetries revealed by the diagnosis made, reports the city council in a press release.
The document sets out the commitments and results to be achieved locally, for the period 2023-2026, that ensure equality between men and women.
The Municipal Plan for Equality and Non-Discrimination “Olhão + Equal” was prepared under the protocol signed on April 26, 2021 between the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality and the Municipality, which aims to territorialize the National Strategy for Equality and Non-Discrimination 2018-2030 “Portugal + Equal” (ENIND), the same statement adds.
The preparation and implementation of this plan is financially supported by the European Social Fund, under the Algarve Regional Operational Program – Cresc Algarve 2020, he concludes.
