A collision between two light vehicles on National Road 6 (EN 6), better known as Avenida Marginal, resulted in one minor injury this Saturday in Algés, Lisbon district.
The Dafundo Volunteer Firefighters confirmed the occurrence, stating that the alert was given at 4:36 AM and that the injured person was transported to São Francisco Xavier Hospital.
The incident occurred near the EN6 traffic lights that provide access to the National Stadium in Jamor, leading to a total traffic cut in the Lisbon-Cascais direction between 4:36 AM and 6:15 AM, on the section between the Vasco da Gama Aquarium, just after the train station in Algés, and Alto da Boa Viagem.
Traffic in the Cascais-Lisbon direction was also affected, reduced to a single lane. Traffic has since returned to normal.
The Dafundo Volunteer Firefighters were on site with an extrication vehicle and an ambulance, totaling two vehicles and eight operatives. The Public Security Police, Municipal Police, and the concessionaire Infraestruturas de Portugal were also present.
