The national director of the Judicial Police (PJ) said today that the police investigation into the case of suspected corruption in Madeira is not “in check”, but admitted concern “given what was expected”.
“No, it doesn’t call our work into question, we know what we’re doing, we’re confident in what we’re doing, we’re convinced and very motivated in the work we’ve been doing for years in this investigation. What I want to say and convey as national director is my total confidence in the team investigating these facts,” said the national director of the PJ, Luís Neves, speaking to journalists.
Luís Neves, who was speaking on the sidelines of the swearing-in ceremony for 84 new PJ inspectors, which took place today at the national headquarters in Lisbon, also said that “there are no frustrations” with the court’s decision at the end of the first judicial interrogation.
