The musical artists Bárbara Bandeira, Marisa Liz, Ivandro and Nena are the headliners of the festivities of Ponte de Sor (Portalegre), which this year celebrate 38 years of elevation to city, announced today the municipality.
According to the municipality, the Ponte de Sor City Festivities will take place between July 5th and 9th, in the riverside area of that Alentejo town.
In addition to the music, the initiative includes a display of handicrafts and regional products and spaces dedicated to gastronomy representative of the region.
On July 5th, the fair will open its doors at 7:00 pm, with the inauguration of the handicraft and regional products exhibition, followed at 8:30 pm by the Kiitos Festival and the MOVE.SOR show, composed of several dance groups from the county.
On the next day (July 6th), the musical entertainment will be the responsibility of the Montargil Music School, followed by a concert with Bárbara Bandeira, on a stage next to the Ponte de Sor Municipal Open Swimming Pools.
On Friday, July 7th, it is the singer Marisa Liz’s turn to perform, being preceded by the Sociedade Filarmónica Galveense Band.
After these two shows, the night closes with the performance of Dj Joseph.
On Saturday, July 8th, the day that marks the 38th anniversary of Ponte de Sor’s elevation to town, the musical shows will start at 9:00 PM, with the performances of Tuto Tul, a street arts show, followed by the performance of the Ponte de Sor City Hall’s Light Orchestra.
At 11:00 pm the Luso-Angolan singer and musician Ivandro takes the stage, and the DJs Francisco Gil and Diogo Silva close the night.
On the last day of the festivities, Sunday, July 9, a choir meeting is scheduled at the Teatro Cinema de Ponte de Sor and the inauguration of the Municipal Museum Center at the Moinho da Zona Ribeirinha.
Besides these initiatives, the Ponte de Sor Chamber announces that there will also be a concert with the Ponte de Sor Harmonic Orchestra and Mica Paprika.
The concert by singer Nena is announced for 11:00 pm.
In parallel to the festivities, the 9th edition of the Agroforestry Fair will also take place on the riverfront, organized by the Associação dos Produtores Agroflorestais da Região do Sor (AFLOSOR), which will feature several exhibitors, food and music events.
The municipality also indicates that “for two days” the Bolota Street Arts Festival will take place.
The shows of the Ponte de Sor Town Festivities have free admission.
