Porto. Traffic fully restored on VCI after truck fire

According to a source from the Sub-regional Command of Emergency and Civil Protection of the Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP), by 12:20 PM, traffic was flowing without constraints in the area near the Arrábida Bridge, where a wine transport truck caught fire this morning.

The alert for the fire in a heavy vehicle transporting wine was given at 9:06 AM, with the truck being “totally engulfed” in flames, according to the same source.

The incident forced a complete closure of traffic in the Arrábida-Freixo direction, but by 11:20 AM, circulation was already possible on the left lane, while the central and right lanes remained closed near the burning truck.

By 12:20 PM, traffic was fully restored.

At the scene were 29 operatives and nine ground vehicles, including volunteer firefighters from Coimbrões (Gaia) and Porto, as well as the GNR (National Republican Guard) and PSP (Public Security Police).
