The Portuguese roller field hockey team entered the European Championship in the best way today, winning 7-4 against Italy, in the first round of Group A of the event taking place in Sant Sadurni d’Anoia, Catalonia.
Henrique Magalhães (02 minutes), Gonçalo Alves (08, 10, 49 and 50), João Souto (41) and Hélder Nunes (50) scored the goals for Portugal, while Giulio Cocco (16 and 19), Davide Gavioli (48) and Andrea Malagoli (50) scored for the transalpines.

Portugal, the record holder for European Championship trophies (21), provisionally leads the group with three points, with the other game in the ‘poule’ Spain and France still facing each other today, starting at 20:00 (Lisbon time).
In the second round, the national team will play the two-time defending champions Spain on Tuesday at 17:30.
