The Annecy animated film festival, which kicks off today in France, has several Portuguese productions in competition, including “Catisfaction”, by André Almeida, and “Mr Passenger”, by Zepe.
According to the announced program, in the official short film competition is “Catisfaction”, produced and directed by André Almeida, in 3D, without dialogue, between the real and the dreamlike, about a man and his cat.
In the same competition, there are two Portuguese co-productions from Cola Animation, directed by Bruno Caetano: “L’Ombre des papillons”, by Sofia El Khyari, drawn on paper, and “Telsche”, by Sophie Colfer and Ala Nunu.
In the “Off Limits” film competition, we find “Motus”, an experimental stop motion short by Nelson Fernandes, while in the TV film competition, we find director José Pedro Cavalheiro with “Mr. Passenger”, a series for children, scripted by Regina Guimarães and produced by Ocidental Filmes.
The film festival, one of the most important for animated cinema, is dedicated to Mexico this year and closes on the 17th.
