The Rocas Beach in Castanheira de Pera, in the district of Leiria, reopens on June 1 and expects to receive at least 80,000 visitors, the number recorded in 2022, said the director general of Prazilândia.
“We plan to at least reach that number,” said Marco Anjos, admitting that he may even exceed that figure if weather conditions allow.
According to Marco Anjos, September 2022 was a “very complicated” month, since it rained “almost the whole 15 days” that the beach was open.
The head of the municipal company Prazilândia said that from June 1 and until September 17, when the bathing season ends in the resort, visitors will continue to enjoy various activities such as climbing, ‘slide’, ‘stand up paddel’ or canoes, while maintaining the various services, such as the ‘Rocas lounge’, restaurant, bar and accommodation.
“We are already, fortunately, with a fairly high occupancy rate for the summer” in lodging.
Marco Anjos added that entertainment is also guaranteed, with DJs, theme parties, or ‘show cooking'”.
The director-general also pointed out that providing a better service to visitors continues to be one of the bets.
“We will always try our best this year, without a doubt, to improve the service for our clients,” he assured, explaining that, in this aspect, the ticket sales points will be reduced from two to five, and the online store will continue to be available.
The goal is for visitors to wait as little time as possible to access the beach, said Marco Anjos.
According to its website, Praia das Rocas, which opened in 2005, is located on a lake almost a kilometer long. An island in the center of the beach, a wave pool with 2,100 square meters, announced as the largest in the country, a reservoir and a secular bridge are some of the attractions.
Prazilândia, the Castanheira de Pera municipal tourism and environment company, is responsible for other spaces, such as the Casa do Tempo, and for promoting cultural, sports and leisure activities.
