Due to a strike called by the SFRCI union, significant disruptions in train services are anticipated on April 28, 2025. CP announced that no minimum services have been set for this strike.
The company noted that these disruptions might be felt starting today and could extend into Tuesday.
The union stated that it decided to call the strike to demand better salary conditions for all company workers.
“After exhaustive negotiations with the administration of CP – Comboios de Portugal, a satisfactory agreement was reached regarding salary increases for the current year,” but this agreement “has been awaiting approval from governmental authorities since February 2025,” SFRCI mentioned in a statement.
CP reminded “customers who have already purchased tickets for Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Internacional, InterRegional, and Regional train services” that they are eligible for “a full ticket refund or a free exchange for another train of the same category and class.”
These refunds or exchanges can be processed online “up to 15 minutes before the scheduled departure from the customer’s origin station, or at ticket offices.”
After this period, and up to 10 days after the strike ends, a refund can be requested “by filling out the online contact form ‘refund for delay or cancellation,’ with the original ticket scanned and attached.”
