Bathing at Azul-Conchinha beach in Matosinhos, in the district of Porto, is currently not recommended due to water contamination, according to the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) on its official website.
The warning for this beach in Leça da Palmeira has been in effect since today, states the APA, with the reason being microbiological contamination of the water.
In the past three years, the water at this beach has been classified as excellent, according to the National Water Resources Information System (SNIRH).
The bathing season, which began on June 15th at this beach, ends on September 15th.
