Traffic will be restricted between next Thursday and Sunday in the Algés area, in the municipality of Oeiras, due to the NOS Alive festival, the Public Security Police (PSP) said today.
Traffic on the downhill stretch of the IC17, between the Miraflores junction and the traffic circle next to Avenida Brasília, will be disrupted between 23:30 and 05:00.
In a statement, the PSP said it had set up a security operation for the festival, which is taking place on the Passeio Marítimo de Algés, in the municipality of Oeiras, and it is expected that car traffic will be restricted, with traffic on the downhill stretch of the IC17 being interrupted.
According to the authorities, there will also be traffic restrictions from 3pm onwards during the four days of the festival, on Avenida Brasília, Avenida Marginal between Algés and Alto da Boa Viagem, the CRIL/IC17 viaduct (Algés) and Praça D. Manuel I.
According to the PSP, “as around 55,000 people are expected each day”, the festival will have a security system focused on “prevention and proactivity”, using a variety of resources: police from the integrated proximity policing model, traffic teams, crime prevention squads, patrols from the public transport security division and the rapid intervention team.
Measures will also be implemented to control people at the entrances to the festival grounds, the statement said.
The PSP advises festival-goers to travel to the event in advance, “given the high influx of people and the security procedures for access to the site”, as well as to use public transport.
If you use your own car and park on the public highway, the authorities ask that you check that the vehicle is locked, with no valuables in sight and in such a way as to allow traffic to circulate.
