CP workers are on strike until Thursday. Only 25% of scheduled trains are expected to run.
The week begins with a strike of the workers of CP – Comboios de Portugal. Between February 27 and March 2, disturbances in the circulation of trains are expected until Thursday.
For the next four days, only 25% of scheduled trains will run.
According to a statement published on CP’s website, “there will be major disruptions in the circulation of trains, nationwide, in the period between 00:00 on the 27th and 23:59 on the 2nd of March.
Minimum services have been established and the schedules can be found on the carrier’s official website.
Customers who have already purchased tickets for Alfa Pendular, Intercity, International, Inter-Regional and Regional services can request a refund “for the total value of the ticket purchased or its free revalidation for another train of the same category and in the same class”.
The same information from CP also states that the refund can be requested at the ticket office or through the website cp.pt, by filling out an online form and sending a scan of the original ticket, as well as name, address, IBAN and NIF, within ten days of the end of the strike.
The strike was called by 10 unions in the sector: SINFA, ASCEF, ASSIFECO, FENTCOP, SINFB, SIOFA, STF, STMEFE, SINAFE and SNTSF.
The workers are demanding wage increases in line with last year’s average inflation rate.
