A 20-year-old man was arrested on Sunday by the Public Security Police (PSP) in Santo Tirso after being caught driving a stolen vehicle without a driver’s license. The young man was also in possession of drugs.
In a statement, the PSP clarified that officers approached the driver at around 3:15 AM and found that the young man “did not have legal authorization to drive motor vehicles.” The police force then discovered that the “vehicle was stolen,” with the owner having reported it on August 3rd of this year.
PSP officers also found that the young man had hashish in his possession. The drug was enough for about 14 individual doses.
In addition to the traffic offense, the detainee is now accused of drug trafficking.
The suspect will be presented to the Judicial Authorities today.
