The Portuguese Sea and Atmosphere Institute (IPMA) has today issued a yellow warning for sea turbulence in the Western Group of the Azores, between this afternoon and Tuesday evening.
In a statement, the IPMA said that the warning is valid from 12:41 today until 00:00 on Tuesday (one hour less in the Azores).
Westerly waves are forecast, turning south-westerly.
The Western Group of the Azores is made up of Flores and Corvo.
According to the IPMA website, consulted by Lusa at around 2pm, yellow warnings remain in place for 10 districts in mainland Portugal: Aveiro, Beja, Braga, Coimbra, Faro, Leiria, Lisbon, Porto, Setúbal and Viana o Castelo.
The yellow warning, the least serious on a scale of three, is issued whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
The IPMA advises you to consult more information about the warnings and their updates on its website (www.ipma.pt).
